1. Hang 10 at the beach

2. Explore a secret island 

The family-owned and operated private nature preserve Kualoa Ranch is ideal for, well, families. From ATV tours of the filming sites for movies like Jurassic Park to ziplining over the lush landscape to secret-island tours, Kualoa Ranch is a great way to get off the beaten path and embrace a little adventure for all ages. 

3. Bike and savor street food  

Waikiki is easily bikeable, making it perfect for creating your own street-food tour on two wheels. Check out local staples, from loco moco to spam musubi to paradise-worthy shave ice in flavors like lychee and POG (a blend of passion fruit, orange, and guava juices). Oh, and don't forget the non-street food favorites like the famous Duke's hula pie. 

4. Snorkel-sail with sea turtles 

You can often catch a glimpse of green sea turtles (the most common on Oahu) at Waikiki Beach in the calm morning hours, but it's even more fun to spot them while swimming. Check out reef sailing tours that let you snorkel alongside these cute creatures — just remember that sea turtles are endangered and it's illegal to touch a sea turtle in Hawaii! 5. Take a break from the beach for a little museum culture 

Take a break from hitting the beach and learn about the history of Hawaii. Step back in time with a visit to the official residence of Hawaii’s monarchy, Iolani Palace.
